ALICE HENDERSON

GIS SPECIALIST AND BIOACOUSTICIAN

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS (GIS)

As a GIS specialist, I offer a variety of services including mapping, app design for field data collection, wildlife corridor design, habitat suitability modeling, species distribution modeling, remote sensing, and more.

BIOACOUSTICS

As a trained and experienced  bioacoustician, I carry out bioacoustic surveys of both audible species (such as birds and amphibians) and ultrasonic surveys of bats. I use both active and passive recorders, carry out species ID on both full spectrum and zero crossing recordings, and am proficient in Kaleidoscope Pro, AnalookW, and EchoClass.

FIELD RESEARCH

I undertake surveys for species presence, do accurate and extensive GPS/GIS data collection,

and retrieve and replace scientific instruments in the field,

such as data loggers.

ABOUT ME

I am a trained and experienced GIS specialist, bioacoustician, and field researcher. I feel passionately about undertaking projects that will benefit wildlife, from surveys for species presence to mapping wildlife corridors. I have done pro-bono work for various wildlife projects and non-profits including the Humane Society Wildlife Land Trust, the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative, The Nature Conservancy, and more.
